First post! Royal Adelaide Show 2012

Welcome to my blog! From now on I will try to post as much as life permits, and I'll try to bring you amazing photos with stories, or even a tip or two about photography if people are interested!

I'll kick off with a post about the Royal Adelaide Show 2012, which happened about a month ago. The Show is an annual festival where people gather to go on rides, eat delicious dagwood dogs, buy showbags, etc. Even though the contents are almost the same every year it still never stop amaze me with little new things, and of course, lots of photo opportunities!

Cake decorations display is one of the big events at the show, and each year the standard is higher and higher. There's always people around the cabinets taking photos, because they are all so beautiful! Of note this year is what I call "The Princess" series, as shown below, The Indian Princess, and Lady Gaga.

Going into another pavilion it felt like going into a car showroom. There were at least 10-20 cars on display here, ranging from normal everyday use cars to sports cars, all from different car manufacturers. I particularly like the Subaru WRX, and the Toyota 86. Funny enough the Toyota 86 attracted a huge amount of attention, and getting a shot of the whole car was a royal pain in the A$$. And when I finally got the shot a lady asked me: "Is this your dream?" I wish...I wish...

And it would not be Royal Adelaide Show if there's no cute dogs waiting for people to pat! In another building there are literally hundreds and hundreds of dogs, each in their individual booths, waiting for everyone to come and go "awww, so cute!" Being a dog lover myself, I find myself not only taking photos but touching and patting some of the dogs there, and my heart melted multiple times. Some of them are just plain beautiful! And from the amount of photos I am putting up, you can see how much I love dogs!

Out in the open, there is a wide variety of rides for both children and adults, and it always excites me to see people enjoying themselves, not worrying about all the problems in life.

And it is even better, and it warms my heart, to see kids enjoying themselves. Their innocent laughter adds a lot to the whole showground, making the place a VERY, VERY happy place. One may even call it a wonderland! :)

Of course there are a lot more going on at the Show, like farm animal showcases, pig racing, showbags, technologies section, V8 performances at night, and of course fireworks, etc etc. but I think I'll stop here. I'll end this with one of the best shots I got from the day: "The Wheel of Hope". For more photos from the day, please do not hesitate to check out the album on either Google+ or Facebook !
